mission statement 🖤

狐狸精 (húlijīng); fox spirit, nine tailed fox, vixen.
狐狸精 are often depicted in Chinese, Japanese (kitsune) and Korean folklore, literature and mythology.

These fox spirits are female shapeshifters that possess ‘magical’ powers, and believed to have good or bad omens associated with them.

I chose the 狐狸精 as my main brand concept for the very purpose that they are known to be man-eaters. Although they are sly and mischievous, nine tail foxes have the ability and intelligence to overpower most human obstacles that threaten their way. Usually, in Eastern folklore, 狐狸精 can transform into charismatic and beautiful women that consume (or seduce) men.
The seduction aspect of the fox spirit is actually the literal opposite of what I am portraying in my brand concept, as I focus on the feminine empowerment and natural resilience of these creatures and see them as a symbol of discernment, trusting in one’s intuition, and navigating through disorienting situations with a keen sensibility both in the mythical world and the modern world.

As an individual journeying in my own path in todays society, I feel deeply connected to foxes and 狐狸精 alike. My story can be told in reflection of these creatures, and I hope that with time and exposure, you will come to understand my personal history, motivation and my profound respect for the nine tail fox and it’s symbolism. 🤍

My clothing line is massively based around the concept of liberation from trauma, and my future collections will revolve around the survivor journey. I want to challenge the idea of vulnerability versus discernment. I want to uplift other survivors of psychological / emotional / sexual / domestic violence.
My goal is to breathe life into taking back our power from trauma, in all forms; freedom from fear and submission, and defy the idea that women will forever be victims or targets towards societal dangers. We are not weak.

I'd like to also add that sexual abuse does not only happen to women, but men too. trauma and abuse has no gender.

i hope my first collection in my clothing line will reflect these issues / experiences and transform them into totems of healing and empowerment <3
